BEYOND THE GENIUS ART PROJECT: "ODE TO THE CAN" BY ANDREO MICHAELO MIELCZAREK
Merda d'artista deserves a sound work, thought Ensemble MidtVest's bassoonist Yavor Petkov, who walks past the cult can at the HEART Museum every day. Ode to the can , which he performed with two Bulgarian musicians from Beyond the Genius Art Project (!?), Illustrated Piero Manzoni's revelation - from loose idea to hard / exclusive matter - in four movements: The Search , In the Bathroom , The Dream , In the Factory . One theme dealt with the letters SCHEISSE. Very 1: 1, musical-scented, Balkan-fiery, dramatizing with Petkov as dreamy Manzoni in a sofa in front of the stage. The music supported a mood that something big was on the way, voila: Gold confetti in a gentle stream hit the poor can. Yes, making works around so sealed, so canonized works is hard. Power on the bassoon was supposed to look like factory noise (the can was not created on a nice beach). Prettyillustrations. Safe. Why not build it in a corona-ruined clothing hall? Manzoni criticized the institution - the young Italian, who suddenly landed in Herning's industrial district in 1960, was on the road. Petkov merely affirmed the institution by presenting his inspiration (another man's relic) within something as hyper institutional as a neat concert hall at an art museum. This was not naked, but wrapped in institution and musicians in black clothes on a stage (finally Petkov handed a can of a handwritten score to the museum's curator - art is about immortality. Standing ovations by the way). Very paradoxical experience being on the WC with Manzoni.
